Meet The Owner

Hi, I’m Gloria Okeke, the owner and administrator of Hillsdale Place Home Plus. I founded this community with a simple but vital mission: to ensure that senior care feels like home, not an institution.

My journey in healthcare began over a decade ago. Although I already held a degree in Food Science, I chose to start at the very beginning as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). I wanted to understand care from the ground up. Over the years, I worked my way up the nursing ladder to earn my BSN, serving in roles ranging from the VA Medical Center to regional leadership.

These experiences taught me that while medical expertise is essential, dignity is what truly matters. At Hillsdale Place, we combine that high-level clinical oversight with the warmth of a small, residential setting. My goal is to ensure your loved one is supported by professional expertise while maintaining the independence and routine that makes life meaningful.

We aren't just a facility; we are a home. I am here to ensure that every resident is treated with respect and every family feels a sense of total peace.

Our Home

Hillsdale Place is more than a facility - it is a home away from home. Located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood at 1402 SW Lancaster St, our six-bed "Home Plus" residence offers an intimate environment where your loved one is never just a room number.

The Best of Both Worlds

Accessibility & Ease

We are situated directly across from Topeka’s beautiful Hillsdale Park. This prime location allows our residents to enjoy the energy of the community, watching families play and the seasons change, all from the comfort of a peaceful, tree-lined street.

We believe that physical limitations should never limit a person’s quality of life.

  • Full Accessibility: Our home is equipped with professional ramps and features to ensure non-ambulatory residents move with ease and safety.
  • Open Doors for Family: We keep our facility welcoming and accessible for family members, because your presence is what truly makes this a home.

Hand-Vetted, Happy Staff

A house is made of bricks, but a home is made of people. Our team is hand-vetted for both their clinical qualifications and their character. You’ll find our staff working with genuine smiles, providing high-quality care that is as warm as it is professional.

Spaces Designed for Connection

  • The Living Room: The heart of our home, where residents gather for conversation, music, and relaxation.
  • Gardens & Greenery: With ample space for flowers and gardening, we encourage residents to keep their "green thumbs" active and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of nature.
  • Outdoor Gatherings: Our dedicated outdoor spaces are perfect for family visits, afternoon tea, or simply soaking up the Kansas sunshine.
